The following is an email we sent regarding our motorcycle policy

We have been in the campground business for over 40 years, and have yet to see a motorcycle start and leave.  They always have to warm it up for fifteen minutes and rev it during this time.  People don't do that with cars.  I don't rev my vehicle for fifteen minutes before I go someplace.

Second.  Some people with motorcycles feel the need to show off.  They think " I need to go the bathroom,"  and drive their motorcycle from their campsite to the bathroom.  Or drive it around the campground like they're in a parade.

Third,  the sound of a Harley at two in the morning.

Fourth,  if we allow one in, then we have to allow hundreds of them in which includes dirt bikes, mini-bikes, pocket rockets, scooters, mopeds, ATV's,

Fifth,  It is not discriminatory:  we allow motorcycle drivers/riders in,  just not the machine.  It's as if they're deprived that their motorcycle is out of their sight.  They're worried something will happen to it if it's not next to them.  My question is what do you do when you drive it in the cities and park it someplace?

Sixth,  We have secured buildings to park the motorcycles in.

Seventh and there's more:  People thank us for this policy

I'm sure you are part of the 99% of the motorcyclists that understand that the 1% have ruined it for you.

We have a fantastic campground and hope you get to enjoy it

".... Sounds like you have given this policy some serious thought. Anyone who could not understand or live with your policy certainly does not deserve to enjoy what you have to offer them."- Dave M.

"...your campground was discussed recently on the *******
owners group forum and the email reply you sent was
very well thought out, and unfortunately mostly
correct, we as motorcyclist do have a poor reputation
due to a few bad apples. And I do understand and
respect your policies on the subject.
If I again travel your area and need lodging, Ill stop
by and be sure to leave my bike in your covered secure
storage area, that's a nice touch.
best regards." -Mark A.
read your "Motorcycle" rules and I think they are a bunch of crap.  I drive a motorcycle that is quieter than most cars and certainly more quiet than RV's or the vehicles used to pull them.  This is indeed discriminatory.  The MMRA (Minnesota Motorcycle Riders Association) would have a field day with these rules.

I've camped here before, many years ago. Now that I've read your rules, You won't have to worry.  I won't be bringing my noisey GoldWing and tent or my noisey Ford F150 and 5th wheel camper to your establishment again.

To which we replied:

Hello Jonathan,

We're sorry you feel that way.

We also don't allow chainsaws in the campground, I guess we should worry about the Minnesota Lumberjacks Association, too, huh?
